Chihauhuas have individual qualities which make them unique to other breeds.  For instance, Smooth Coats have a flat, furry tail as opposed to a rat or whip like tail which seems to be the common perception.  Most dog tails are not this way.  Their ears are also unique in that, partly due to the placement on the head (like a cat's), they can turn their ears almost completely backwards. This feature actually gives them an increased ability to hear.  Personally, we feel this ability is used to quickly identify a sound and determine whether to ignore it completely or not.  Our theory is supported by experience...  ;-)

Funny little bit of trivia that I can't believe I forgot to include...  Have you ever smelled your dog's foot pads?  As far as I know, ONLY a Chihuahua's foot pads smell like corn chips or popcorn!
